Dear Parents and Carers
Over the past few weeks I have been packing up my office and taking home many memories of over 30 years of teaching. I found my first ever teaching file in my office and sat and read through my lesson plans from over 30 years ago! I also found all my work diaries since I came to work here in Airedale back in 2011. Initially I was head teacher of Redhill Junior School, then in 2015 I became the head teacher of the combined Fairburn View Primary School. So many memories which I will cherish for ever.
However, the time has come to move on and to allow the school to be led by someone new with new ideas and plans. I am confident that Ms Webb will be a fantastic head teacher for Fairburn View and I know she has enjoyed getting to know the school, staff and pupils over the past few weeks.
I will miss the children and staff so much. They have all meant so much to me and made my years here so memorable and I have felt so privileged to have led them and to have led such a fabulous school.
We are also saying good bye to Mrs Slater this time. Some of you will have known her longer than me as I understand she taught some of you as children! Mrs Slater will be greatly missed. Her skills as an Early Years teacher have been noted by so many visitors to the school and she has successfully helped so many children start their journey into education. Thank you, Mrs Slater, for all you have done for this school and for the many children over the years you have cared for and supported. Your commitment to the school will never be forgotten.
- Due to changes in staffing arrangements, there are some class and PE changes for next term and these are outlined on the next page.
So, all it remains for me to do is say thank you to you. Thank you for your interest in your children’s education – please keep on supporting the school. I have loved getting to know so many of you over the years and I wish you all the best.
