Reading Plus

here is a focus on reading across school and there is huge benefits to children reading at home. As part of school policy, we ask for children to read at least 3x at home and this is signed by a parent. You can help your children by hearing them read, but also checking their comprehension. Ask the questions about what they have just read, what they think will happen next and explain what they think of the books they are reading. It is important for children to read a range of texts as this makes them well rounded excellent readers.

Inside school, children have a daily guided reading session in which they have opportunity to have adult based and independent reading activities.

We appreciate your help and support in the matter.

If anyone has still not logged in to their account, Mrs Greatorex has created this video to explain how to use it. Any problems, please get in touch. Reading plus (Yrs2-6) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ny2tuxOyxdE&t=2s

Spellings

Pupils must copy out the words correctly and do LCWC (Look, Cover, Write, Check) at least 4 times for each. Pupils then need to find the definitions and write them for at least 3 words. Pupils must do them in their LCWC book or on lined paper. If pupils don’t have lined paper at home they can take some from school. Spelling will be posted to this page as well as Sway each week.
