I joined the Governing Body at Fairburn View in May 2022 and since September 2022 I have been Chair of Governors. I am also on the Finance & Resources Committee. Having gone to University in Leeds to study Economics & Mathematics, I went on to qualify as a Chartered Accountant and my career has been working in finance and managerial roles in a number of businesses. I have done school governorship before, between 2007 & 2016, albeit at a smaller voluntary aided primary school in the Leeds Education area. From 2013 onwards I was Chair of Governors at that school and went through an Ofsted visit in 2014. My son who was at this school is now in secondary education. Education and in particular my love of maths taught by inspiring teachers has been the platform for me to further myself and the time and knowledge I am trying to give back, I will feel very valued.
