|I joined the Governing Body at Fairburn View in May 2022 and since September 2022 I have been Chair of Governors. I am also on the Finance & Resources Committee. Having gone to University in Leeds to study Economics & Mathematics, I went on to qualify as a Chartered Accountant and my career has been working in finance and managerial roles in a number of businesses. I have done school governorship before, between 2007 & 2016, albeit at a smaller voluntary aided primary school in the Leeds Education area. From 2013 onwards I was Chair of Governors at that school and went through an Ofsted visit in 2014. My son who was at this school is now in secondary education. Education and in particular my love of maths taught by inspiring teachers has been the platform for me to further myself and the time and knowledge I am trying to give back, I will feel very valued. ||Hi I’m Melinda and I am proud to be a governor here at Fairburn View Primary School. I left teaching after working for over 16 years to begin work as an education advisor for children in care. I hope to bring to Fairburn View governing body a sense of understanding that some of our community face challenges alongside my skills from working in education and in a local authority. It is an exciting time at Fairburn View, we are always looking at how education can help our children achieve their dreams||Danny began his career in education through the Teach First programme as a Computer Science Teacher at in a school in West Leeds. He has a First Class Degree in Computing and has been deeply committed to improving the life chances of young people, both in the UK and the USA (following 6 summers working in New York). Over the years, Danny has held various leadership roles, including pastoral leadership, curriculum leadership and Assistant Principal for Inclusion. In June 2022, Danny was appointed as the new Principal of Leeds East Academy, where he had previously served as Vice Principal for Quality of Education, overseeing Curriculum, Assessment, and Teaching & Learning.
