Admission Arrangements

At Fairburn View Primary School, we are dedicated to ensuring equality of education and opportunity for all pupils. We aim to develop a culture of inclusion and diversity in which people feel free to disclose their ability and to participate fully in school life. Our admissions policy does not discriminate against disabled pupils.

Applying for the School

If you are considering enrolling your child at Fairburn View Primary School Nursery, you are welcome to do so by contacting the School Office who will give you an admission form for completion. The School Office will also be more than happy to arrange for you to look round the School with your child.

If your child is going to Reception class for the first time during the next academic year, you should contact the school during the previous September/October. It is also advisable to contact Wakefield Education Admission Department on 01924 306052 to ensure your child will be offered a place at this School.

A copy of the school’s admissions policy can be obtained from the School Office at any time.

Mid year admissions

If a pupil is to transfer into Fairburn View Primary School mid year from another primary school, they should apply through Wakefield admissions department. If the school has a space in the year group requested the pupil will be able to transfer to Fairburn View Primary school with no issue. It is recommended however, that the pupil with parents or carers meet with the head teacher prior to starting. If there is no space in the year group requested, the pupil will be offered a place in a nearby school which has spaces in the required year group.
