Highlights of recent visits (-2023)

Ledston Hall (Y2) – We had a lovely time exploring the local area and getting to know our surroundings. We developed our knowledge of the use of how local land is used. We then discussed the differences and similarities of rural and urban areas.

Yorkshire Wildlife Park  (Y3) –   An exciting trip which tied in with our work Science work on animal classification.  It was amazing to see so many different animals up close.
Ledston Luck (Y3) – We visited the centre at Ledston Luck as part our Science work.  We completed a scavenger hunt, an exercise on tree identification, and finished with a ‘den building’ game.
Ledston Luck (Y4) – We visited the centre at Ledston Luck as part our Science work, looking at different organisms and how trees are structured.  We also built our own dens out of forest floor findings!
Tropical World (Y4)–  As part of our rainforest work, we visited Tropical World in Leeds to see the animals and experience some of habitats of the Tropics.
Bushcraft (Y4) – We had a one night residential to Castle Howard Bushcraft centre where we worked together as teams/tribes building our own shelters, making camp fires, learning how to use cutting tools and make animal traps.  Some of us even slept in our own shelters! All the food that we ate was cooked on the campfire.
PGL/Kingswood (Y6) – A 3 day residential where we do watersports, climbing, abseiling, team challenges and much much more!
