Today in Geography, Year 4 enjoyed a lesson in which we learnt about the different layers of the rainforest! We looked at the forest floor, which is the first layer, and how that doesn’t experience much light due to the dense plants and trees above. Next, the understory, where you can usually find lots of different species of insects. This is followed by the canopy, then the highest layer of a rainforest is the emergent layer, where you can usually find birds and bats.

We showed off our knowledge by producing our own rainforests whilst working together as a group, with each person working on a different layer of the rainforest.
