English: WALT – Retell a poem
This week is innovate week!
In school we follow the Talk 4 Writing scheme which takes place over 3 weeks. This means we imitate a text (learn it), then innovate it (change parts as a class to make it our own) and finally independently write our own version.
We have been imitating a shortened version of the poem Oi Frog! This week we are going to change the rhyming words to make it our own! Watch Mrs Palmer recap the poem and then innovate it.
At home, we would like you to use Mrs Palmer’s new text map to learn the innovated version. Send us a video of you retelling the poem. You can add actions if you wish just like we do at school. The key to today’s lesson is becoming familiar with which words rhyme!
