This is one of the books we look at regularly in school. It is available to us through Twinkl.
Diversity activities teach our young children to respect and celebrate the differences in all people. Learning about different cultural aspects, helps them to realise that we’re all humans, despite differences in how we look or dress, or what we eat or celebrate.
As well as cultural differences we also introduce the children to different medical conditions and disabilities. This helps our children to talk about those differences in a respectful manner. We make sure our children understand that although there may be differences in people, they are not completely different from everyone else. We point out things we have in common. Understanding how we are the same, helps our children to relate better to people with disabilities and cultural differences, and it can help increase their empathy towards others.
