Maths: Adding 2 numbers together to make 4.
Now you experimented with your adding machines, we are going to use a more formal method to show our adding skills.
Just like in school, we are going to use a part-part whole diagram to add 2 amounts together. Today we are going to focus on different ways to make 4.
Watch Mrs Palmer make 4 – she uses counters first to split 4 into different amounts before formally writing it.
Once you have watched the video – have a go yourself using the same part-part whole model. You could have a few attempts at using different numbers.
Challenge yourself to write the number sentence underneath.
We can’t wait to see your maths work, as you are fantastic at this in school!
