As we endeavor to cover all learning lost due to the National lockdowns, year 5 had a wonderful day learning all about the Anglo Saxons.
We welcomed visitors into our bubble who shared their knowledge with us. They showed us lots of artefracts from the Saxon period and gave us lots of detail about how they lived, weapons, clothing, religion and how they wrote. Year 5 then produced a diary entry to demonstrate their learning. We also use our Art skills to create a stained glass window and clay to make and engrave a cross – both known to have roots in this period.
We all leant so much in and had great fun doing so – thank you year 5 for your hard work!
